A brief moment in the sun...

feature image La Jolla, with some of Southern California's most beautiful coastline, is considered by many to be the jewel of San Diego

I recently had the opportunity to visit San Diego (in CA, USA) for a quick weekend. This was the first time that I had been all the way to the coastline on the western half of the US, so I wanted to take the opporutnity to see the Pacific Ocean.

After some consultation with a search engine, I landed on La Jolla. It’s often billed as the most photographed beach in Southern California, so I was excited to be able to shoot a little bit of film and make some memories.

After driving about 30 minutes to the beach, I realized that the bag with my camera in it was back at the hotel - and yet somehow I wasn’t surprised. While it would have been nice to get some film shots of the coast, it wasn’t the primary reason for going to the beach, though - so it was what it was.

I got to spend a couple of hours sitting on the rocks and with my feet in the waves, a lot of it just in quiet reflection, and just a dash of nostalgia, reminiscing about sitting on the seabreak in the Atlantic.

I did remember to take a few photos with my phone camera - so they’re here in this post. There are also a few on my Pixelfed account if you’re so inclined, but don’t expect a lot of updates over there.
